Obituary of Paul Edward Atterton

Paul "Dunkin" Atterton, age 79, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 14, 2014. He was preceded in death by parents, William and Eva Atterton; brothers, Raymond, Milton and Wade; grandson, Scott Atterton. He was a member of Greens Chapel Methodist Church, past mayor of Whitwell, served as Commissioner for several years and loved all sports.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; sons, Junior and Kenny (Tonya) Atterton; daughters, Rhonda Atterton and Robin Nipper; grandchildren, Brian, Dylan and Chance Atterton; Lindsay Atterton, Jessica (Kyle) Holloway, Shelley Nipper; great-granddaughter, Alexus Atterton.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:00 p.m. CDT in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Sam Long and Terry Winston officiating. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery.
