Margery Henrietta (Weis) Wagner of Pikeville, TN died September 21, 2008 at Erlanger Bledsoe County Nursing Home. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Pikeville and has gone to a better place with her Heavenly Father. She had lived a long and productive life and was approaching 90 years of age at the time of her death. Margery was born on Dec. 5, 1918 to George and Corrine Weis in New Middletown, Indiana. She grew up on a farm near New Middletown and graduated from New Middletown High School. She married Charles D. Wagner, Sr. of Crandall, Indiana on April 5, 1942. This was a happy lifelong marriage of almost 58 years until Mr. Wagner's death in January 2000. Like many of her generation, she experienced the stress and hardships of both the Great Depression years and World War II as she worked in a munitions factory while Mr. Wagner flew bombing missions over Germany. She was a long time resident of Greenville, Kentucky having lived there for 39 years until she and Mr. Wagner moved to Pikeville, TN in 1993. She taught kindergarten for a number of years while living in Greenville. She enjoyed reading, politics and gardening As she aged, the last "garden" crop she gave up was her rasberry bushes. She was a sincere, patient and loving Christian woman. Even in her later years as her health declined she maintained a strong belief in God's love for her. She is survived by two sons, Charles (Brenda) D Wagner, Jr. of Pikeville, TN and Robert E. Wagner of Dunnellon, FL; four grandchildren, Deborah Daniels, Michael, Daniel and Christopher Wagner and one great grandson. Being the oldest of six children she is survived by her siblings; four sisters, Georgia Blank, Tillie Monroe, Verma Gunther all of Corydon, Indiana; Audrey Albin of Louisville, Kentucky and one brother, Kenneth Weis of New Middletown, Indiana. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be Monday, September 22 at Putnam-Reed Funeral Home with services and visitation following September 23 and 24 at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made to First Southern Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 338, Pikeville, TN 37367. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Crandall, Indiana.
