Clinton "Babe" Smith, age 68, of Dunlap, TN, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 peacefully with his loving family by his side at Erlanger Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jett and Gladys Smith; two brothers, Bobby and Benny Smith; sister, Mary May; grandson, Zachary Carr. He was a member of East Valley Baptist Church and retired from the Dunlap Water System. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Smith; daughters, Sheila (Jimmy) Carr and Jennifer Turner, both of Dunlap; son, Clint Smith, Knoxville; 10 grandchildren; sister, Nancy Cagle, Dunlap; brother, Clayton (Margaret) Smith, Hixson; sisters-in-law, Alma Smith and Marlene (Greg) Bell, Aiken, SC; brother-in-law, Joe May; mother-in-law, Virginia Hood, Dunlap; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 a.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Terry Barker officiating. Burial will be in Collier Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made for funeral expenses. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap. Family will receive friends Sunday 2:00-9:00 p.m. CDT.
