G. B. Myers, Jr., 83 of Pikeville, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at his home. He was a caring devoted husband and father who loved his farm and family. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed his times with his customers at Myers Market.
Born in Pikeville on August 18, 1925, he was the son of General Bryant Myers, Sr. and Lena Cagle Myers. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Southern Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Navy. He was a farmer, school bus driver, Bledsoe County Sheriff for six years, and owner of Myers Market.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, General and Lena Myers; sisters, LaJune Myers, Evelyn Johnson, and Anna Welch.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Nada Roberson Myers; three daughters, Connie Campbell, Janet (Johnny) Frady, and Cathy Smith; four brothers, Carlos, Ronny, Wendell, and Steve Myers all of Pikeville; three sisters, Joy Bratcher, Chattanooga, Barbara Sullivan and Suzy Roberson, both of Pikeville; five grandchildren, Shelley Bridges, Dustin and Drew Smith, Jesse and Abi Frady; four great grandchildren, John-Marshall and Taylor Bridges, Maddie Smith and Caleb Smith.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm CDT on Monday, September 1, 2008 with Bro. Albert Roberts and Rev. Bill Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in Roberson Family Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Southern Baptist Church Building Fund. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com.
