Hazel Elizabeth Simmons, age 85 of Pikeville, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Charles Powell (C.P.) Simmons; sister Virginia Watkins; brother Paul VanWinkle.
Survivors include three daughters Joyce (Stanley) Crawford, Pikeville; Jane (Newton) Snow, Crossville; Janice (Rick) Keener, Grundy County; three sons Roy (Pam) Simmons, Sammy Ray (Laura) Simmons, James Powell (Lea) Simmons, all of Pikeville; four brothers James and Earl VanWinkle, Pikeville; Charles and Richard VanWinkle, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Service will be Friday, July 25 at 12pm CDT in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Darvin Oakes officiating. Burial will follow in Simmons Cemetery.
