Thomas W.L. Barnes, age 65 of Whitwell, TN passed away August 16, 2008 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born and raised around the South Pittsburg, TN area. He served two tour of duty in Vietnam as a United States Marine.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Jr. and Edna Barnes; sister Sandra Henry; brother Jimmy Reams; granddaughter Allison Nicole Barnes; nephew Carl McAlister.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 40 years Linda Barnes; son Randy (Annie) Barnes; daughter Tonya (Kenny) Atterton; all of Whitwell; grandchildren Justin Barnes, Whitwell, Brandie Barnes, Sequatchie, Dylan Atterton, Whitwell; sisters Betty Jo Griggs, Fayetteville, TN, Debra Matthews, Sequatchie and Opal Underwood, Port Richie, FL; very special friends Ronnie and Sandy Kilgore, Fort Pierce, FL.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Roy Terry officiating. Burial will be in the Red Hill Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Reed Funeral Home, Hwy 28, Whitwell. The family will receive friends from 1-9 p.m. CDT Sunday.
