Alvena "Boo" Young Allen, age 77, of Chattanooga, TN, formerly of Whitwell, TN passed away Thursday May 29, 2014 at her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitwell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Neva Griffith Young; sisters, Lucy Elliott and Shorty Tucker; brother, Larry Young.
She is survived by her son, Rick Allen, Chattanooga; sister, Sandra "Dumpy" Young Coppinger, Chattanooga; aunt, Bonnie Reeves Mahan, Chattanooga; several nieces, nephews and many devoted friends; A special thank you to Avalon Hospice and nurse Katie Loyd, also to Jenna Brooke Elliott.
Graveside services will be held Saturday 5:00 p.m. CDT at Red Hill Cemetery with Jayme Eggert officiating. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Reed Funeral Home, 11675 Hwy 28, Whitwell. Family will receive friends Saturday 12:00-4:30 p.m. CDT.
