Ruth Pendergraft Bird passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at home with her family at her bedside. Mrs. Bird was born April 6th, 1939 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Ruth had an engaging smile, gracious spirit and a kind, generous and loving heart. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and "Nonnie" to her grandson and those adopted grand kids in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents Burris Anthony and Katherine Cadwell Pendergraph and brother Floyd Lee Pendergraft.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Edward Bird; two daughters, Kathryn Bird Cobble (husband Will Henry Cobble) and Rhonda Bird Goins (husband Lewis Goins), one grandson Vincent Vella (wife Bray).
Funeral services will be held Sunday 2:30 p.m. EDT at the Kelly's Ferry Community Church. Burial will be in the McNabb Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements are by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home 50 May Road, Dunlap, TN. Visitation will be Saturday 3-6 p.m. EDT at the Kelly's Ferry Community Church, 11612 Mullins Cove Road, Whitwell, TN.
