Ellen Ann Mullins Coulson, age 74, of Dunlap, TN, passed away Monday, November 25, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born in Richmond, VA to Kenneth and Margaret Mitchell. Ellen was retired from Kennedy Space Center where she was a property administrator for the Space Shuttle Program. Ellen was an accomplished artist, musician and singer. She was a member of the Cherokee Chapter 301 OES, Dunlap Lions Club and Dunlap United Methodist Church, Where she was superintendent of the Sunday school and member of the choir. She was an avid NASCAR fan and a huge supporter of Dale Senior and Junior. Ellen enjoyed traveling, supporting Sequatchie County football and spoiling all of her grandchildren. She was known to all of her grandchildren as the world's greatest Nana. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Darrell Mullins Sr.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Arthur; sons, Darrell (Joy) Mullins of Melbourne, FL and Kevin (Lynn) Mullins of Dunlap; stepchildren, Arthur (Laurie) Coulson of Apple Valley, MN, James (Karen) Coulson of Dunlap and Sally DeSanto of Triangle, VA; grandchildren, Rachel (Tim) Wolfenbarger of Indialantic, FL, Kyle Mullins of Nashville, Katie and Jesse Coulson of Apple Valley, MN, Ryan Mullins of Melbourne, FL, Joseph, Kenny and Jimmy Coulson of Dunlap; great-granddaughter, Julia Wolfenbarger of Indialantic, FL; brothers, Kenny (Sandy) Mitchell of Weirs Valley, Cecil (Doris) Mitchell of Sneedsville, TN; sisters, Romaine Briggs of Port St. John, FL, Linda Boyer of Richmond, VA.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2:30 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Curt McKee officiating. Burial will be in Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Sequatchie County Cancer Network, Dunlap United Methodist Church or a favorite charity. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap. Family will receive friends Tuesday 2:00-6:00 p.m. CST.
