Obituary of Linda Upton

Linda Upton, of Soddy Daisy, TN died May 5, 2008 in an area nursing home. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, where she was past chair of Follow-Up Committee, a Sunday School Teacher and Haven Ministry Team Member. Everbody knew Linda as an excellent cook. She retired from Chattanooga Coco-Cola Bottling Company after 20 years service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Elsie Holland and brothers, Charles, Jimmy and Roy Joe Holland.
She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years Don Upton of Soddy Daisy. There was never a day that he was not at her bedside while she was in the nursing home. He would always read the Bible daily to her, sing and cherish her mind with all the wonderful things they did together. She is survived by her three loving sons, John McGriff of AR, Donnie Upton, Atlanta, GA and Mark (Whitney) Upton, Whitehouse, and a beautiful granddaughter of Mark and Whitney's, Emma; her three loving sisters, Betty Byrd and Sandy Layne both of Dunlap and Debbie Angel, Pikeville; a loving brother, Jackie Holland, of Dunlap; several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Friday at 12:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Tennessee Representative Richard Floyd, Music Minister and formerly Linda's boss. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
