Obituary of Raymond Tandy Brown

Raymond Tandy Brown, age 79, of Pittsgap Mountain, died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at his home. He was a loving and caring husband and father. Raymond was a master mechanic, master craftsman, guitar maker, and a member of Operators Union Local #917. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Emma Brown; and two brothers, Freeman and Wayne Brown. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Lee Brown; two daughters, Linda Sue Putnam (Sammy), of Pikeville, and Evelyn Holt (James), of Dale City, VA; two sons, Lanny Brown (Reta), of Pittsgap, and Raymond Tandy Brown, Jr. (Angela), of Ringgold, GA; four brothers, Stanley Brown, of Pittsgap, Bob Brown, of Dunlap, Winfred Brown, of Pittsgap, and Carl Brown, of Pittsgap; four grandsons, Keith Brown, of Pittsgap, Brian Brown, of Pikeville, David Holt, of Alexandria, VA, and Steven Holt, of Dale City, VA; four granddaughters, Natalie Burton and Debbie Brown, both of Richmond, VA, Paula Turner, of Pikeville, and Jennifer Botting, of Chattanooga; three great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Leroy Smith officiating. The burial will be in Brayton Cemetery.
