Wallace Houston Cunningham, age 71, of Dunlap, TN, went to be with the Lord, Monday morning May 27, 2013 at Kindred Hospital. He retired from coal mining after 25 years, then for the next 22 years he owned and operated the Dunlap Amoco and Downtown BP. He was loved and liked by all. He was preceded in death by parents, Herman Max and Arnie Lee Nunley Cunningham; twin brother, Willie Hugh, Herman Jr. and baby brother John Allen Cunningham; nephew, Craig Allen Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy Boyd Cunningham; son, Wallace Jr.; two daughters, Leann (Michael) Simons and Cynthia (Michael) Hobbs; nine grandchildren, Krista and Steven Simons, Justin, Jared, Jacob and Joshua Hobbs, Brandon Minton, Kylee Cunningham, and Ryan Wallace Fisk; two great-grandchildren, Elania Marie and Shawn Houston; sisters, Mary Emma Smith and Carolyn (Danny) Basham; brothers, L.D. Cunningham and Kenneth (Cathy) Cunningham; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Lanny Tate officiating. Burial will be in Rankin Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. CDT.
