Elbert Merdic Babb, Jr. age 47 of the Luminary Community died Wednesday May15, 2013. He was the Assistant Fire Chief of Luminary Frostbite Volunteer Fire Department.
His parents Elbert M. Babb, Sr. and Sherley Babb; and mother-in-law Margaret Mealor Mumea preceded him in death.
Survivors include wife of 23 years Margaret Babb, Luminary; daughters Elsie Nichole (Scott) Holland, Chattanooga, TN, Ruby Babb, Luminary; son Albert "Bo" Babb, Luminary; grandchildren Jaiden "Tater" Babb, Ace Holland, Callie Evans Babb; Brother Albert M. Babb Graysville, TN; step-father Chuck Mumea; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Greg Banther officiating. The burial will be in Babb Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Pikeville, TN. The family will receive friends Saturday 11:00a.m.-9:00 p.m. and Sun. 2:00- 6:00 p.m. CDT.
