Obituary of Mary Rose Angel

Mary Rose McFarland Angel, born June 16, 1916 to Raney Netter and Ada Mae Smith McFarland in Griffith Community, Bledsoe County, TN., went Home to be with her Savior on April 4, 2013. She was residing in Bryan Texas at the time. Mary's love for nature started on her thirteenth day of life when her mother carried her out to see her rose garden, looked into her daughter's face and said,"You are as pretty as this rose; let's just call you Mary Rose." Mary utilized her love and knowledge of nature during the Second World War by digging medicinal herbs and raising bees for honey. She gathered a little scrap iron too for the cause. Mary Rose retired at the age of seventy-five from Fall Creek Falls State Park where she worked at the resort Inn for many years.
Preceding her in death was husband William Gilbert "Gib"; parents; sons Roger Jackson and Raney Gilbert; grandson Gilbert W.; great-grandson Daniel Gregory Werring; daughter-in-law Zanda Mae; brothers James Milo, Danny Netter, and John Thomas "Johnny"; sisters Jenny Marie "Suzie" Colvard and Odra Lee Dodson.
Survivors include two daughters Dorris Jean (Bob) Frazier, Bryan, TX and Daryla Rose (Jimmy) Molloy, Murfreesboro; two sons Kellum Quint (Pearlene) and Lake Thomas "Tom" (Alyson) both of Bledsoe County; seventeen grandchildren Cynthia Dawn Frazier, Robert Charles Frazier, Jr., Deidre Joan Frazier-Hunt, Bob David Frazier, Edith Rose Frazier Kellum, Tracy Jeannine Frazier Knapp, Bryan Keith and Phillip Bradley Frazier, all of TX.; Mechelle Kay Angel Campbell, Kellum Quint "Kelly", Shelia Denise, and Debora Joan Angel Pompi, Ronda Dew Angel Denn, Jeffery Quin Angel, and Sonya Rene Angel Johnson, all of Pikeville; Sharron Lynn Chapman, Chattanooga; Keith Wiley Angel, Blythville, Arkansas; Susannah Apples Molloy, Murfreesboro; Melissa Rose Angel Songer, and Blake Raney and Mary Catherine Angel; fifty-seven great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren, including Lily Rose Zamora who made the ninth Rose namesake.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Sequatchie Valley Church of Christ for telephone calls and cards sent weekly during her long illness. Others we would like to thank include Warner Cagle, Ellen Hopkins and Home Bible Study Group in TX. And the dedicated staff at Tradition Hospice care in Bryan, TX.
A celebration of her life will be Monday, April 8 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Paul Cagle and her son-in-law Bob Frazier officiating along with family members and friends sharing honors.
