Obed (Junior) Minton, age 76, of Dunlap, TN died Monday March 17, 2008 at his home. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church, a former deputy of Sequatchie County and Truck Driver for Fletcher Trucking. He was preceded in death by his parents, Obed Jessie and Vina Minton; brothers, John Lee, Ed, Donald and Jackie Minton; sisters, Cleo Minton and Faye Hankins.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Minton; son, Benny Ray Tyree; grandson, Ethan Ray Tyree; two sisters and brother-in-law, Rachel (James) Knight of Baltimore, Maryland and Louise Minton, Dunlap; brother, Jerry Minton, Dunlap; sister-in-law, Alberta Minton, Wolf Creek, Orgeon and Thelma Minton, SC.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Brother Terry Barker officiating. Burial will be in Cookston Cemetery. Condolences can be made at reedfamilyfh.com.
Arrangements are by Putnam-Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Rd., Dunlap. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. CDT.
