Obituary of Norma Loella Deweese

Norma Loella Deweese age 79 of Pikeville, TN went to be with the Lord Thursday December 13, 2007. She attended Mooneyham Freewill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Deweese; one sister, Velma Shrum; one brother, Elrie Shrum and her parents, Nicholas and Grace Shrum. Norma was a member of Fall Creek Falls Home Demonstration Club for over fifty years serving as president for many years and secretary as long as she was able. She was a Charter member in Van Buren County Counsel serving as president and later as secretary. She was secretary of the District Home Demonstration Counsel for four years and 4-H Leader serving as superintendent in the Van Buren County Fair for thirty years. She is survived by two daughters, Patsy (Wayne) Sullivan, of Spencer; Glenda (Derrel) Walters, of Pikeville; two sons, J.W. (Minnie) Deweese and Leon (Judy) Deweese, both of Pikeville; eight grandchildren, Glenice McKenzie, Anthony Walters, Andrea Deweese, Dustin, Danielle and Brenna Sullivan, Jessica and Ethan Deweese; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Christian McKenzie, Shawn Graham and Kayson Sullivan; two brothers, Eston (Winette) Shrum and Everette (Doris) Shrum, both of Crossville; and three sisters, Verna Thomas, of Crossville, Violet Woodson, of Brooksville, and Jean (Clyde) Whittenburg, of Pikeville (Jean was raised by Glen and Norma after her parents passed away). Services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. CST at Mooneyham Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Delbert Rains and Rev. Wayne Sullivan officiating with Rev. Kenneth Norris reading the obituary. Burial will be in Blankenship Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday at 6:00 p.m. CST at the Mooneyham Freewill Baptist Church. Online condolences can be made to www.reedfamilyfh.com.
