JC Davis, age 81, of Dunlap, TN went to be with the Lord Saturday morning December 1, 2007. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Daus, Navy veteran of World War II, retired from Sequachee Valley Electric Co-Op after 36 years of service, 55 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.) and a member of the Sequatchie County Rescue Squad.
He was preceded in death by his parents Matt and Georgia Davis, sisters Velma Daggett and Marie Russell; brothers Mack, Robert, Homer and LV Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Davis; two daughters, Carol Davis and Marilyn (Shawn) Wytt both of Dunlap; son, Grady (Farrell) Davis, Dayton; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Todd) Smith, Stephanie (Scotty) Smith, Warren Graham, Miranda (Evodio) Pavon and Brandy Graham; two step-grandchildren, Cheryl and Daniel Wyatt; two great-grandsons, Jarett Pavon and Hunter Smith; step-great-granddaughter Samantha Smith; brother Norman (Francis) Davis, Pikeville; several nieces and nephews; special friend and care giver Lynda Layne.
Funeral service will be held Monday 1:00 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Minister Larry Kirby and Minister Steve Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Cagle Cemetery. In lieu of flower contributions can be made to Caris Hospice, 5959 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421. Arrangement are by Putnam-Standefer-Reed Funeral, 50 May Road, Dunlap.
