Constable Jimmy Lynn Christian, age 36 of Dunlap, TN passed away at his home on Sunday November 18, 2007, after a 10 year battle with Hodgkin's Disease. Jimmy was a 1989 graduate of Sequatchie County High School and then went on to serve in the United States Air Force. Jimmy Served in the Air Force for 11 years and was medically retired as a staff Sergeant. Jimmy married his wife Amy Malone Christian in 2003. He became a reserve officer with the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department in 2004 when he began volunteering as a K-9 officer. Jimmy and his wife Amy have been raising AKC registered bloodhounds for three years and have provided other Sequatchie County Volunteers with blood hounds. He has served as constable since 2006 for the first district. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #78. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Barbara Jean Christian; brother Jeremy Christian; maternal grandparents France and Veola Sutherland; paternal grandmother Irene Christian ; several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife Amy Malone Christian; sister Jamie R. (Dr. Monty) Long; two nieces Vivan and Ava Long; four aunts Linda (Ronnie) Hitchcock, Jo Ann (Berlene) McGlothen all of Dunlap Brenda (Greg) Griffith, Prosperity, S.C., Jana (Les) Easterly; four uncles Clinton (Frances), Chester (Tootie), Lenard (Wanda), Wilkie Sutherland all of Dunlap; many dear cousins and friends. Serving as pallbearers Richard Harvey, Marty Gibson, Gary Craft, Chris Harvey, Rusty Cheatham and Danny Ray Smith, honorary pallbearers will be Sequatchie County Sheriff Department, Sequatchie County E.M.S., Dunlap Fire and Police and Sequatchie County Constables. Jimmy's requested that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to a trust established at Citizens Tri-County Bank for the care of his beloved bloodhounds Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lenard Sutherland and Rev. David Swanner officiating. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. CST Monday.
