James Lewis Wheeler, age 71, of Pikeville, TN died Wednesday November 14, 2007 in an area hospital. He was a commercial contractor, in and around Bledsoe County, for over forty years, and was preceded in death by his parents, Hershal "Buckshot" and Mary Wheeler.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Carol Wheeler, of Pikeville; two sons, Lewis (Kim) Wheeler, of Unicoi, TN, and Joe (Lisa) Wheeler, of Pikeville; two grandchildren, Ariel Norris and Connar Wheeler; three sisters, Lura Lee Shettle, of GA; Mary Nelle Summers, of Smithville, and Elizabeth (Betsy) Word, of Hendersonville; two brothers, Harold and Gene Wheeler, both of Pikeville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. CDT in the chapel with Minister Paul Cagle officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Hill Cemetery. The family is being served by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home of Pikeville, TN where they will receive friends Friday after 6:00 p.m. CDT. Online condolences can be sent to wwwreedfamilyfh.com
