R. J. Cagle, age 81, of Dunlap, TN, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dunlap, active with the Dunlap Senior Citizens Center, and enjoyed attending the Fredonia Mountain Jamboree. He was preceded in death by wife, Mary Cagle; sister, Inez Smith; four brothers, Avery, Sam, James Cagle and Herman Higgenbottom; two great-grandsons.
He is survived by wife, Wanda Austin Cagle; two daughters, Susan (Joe) Rivera, Dearborn Heights, MI, Barbara (Avon) Hammonds, Lumberton, NC; son, Russ (Debbie) Cagle, Dearborn Heights, MI; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Teresa (Jerry) Carlton and Cynthia (Marvin) Price, both of Dunlap; two step-sons, Ray (Sandi) Austin Jr., Tucson, AZ and Cornel (Nancie) Austin, Dunlap; several nieces and nephews; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeremy Byrd officiating. Burial will be in the Camp Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network, Camp Cemetery, 188 Hitchcock Road, Dunlap, TN 37327, or the charity of your choice.
