Roy Stephen Roberson of Pikeville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 27, 2012. Steve was born April 15, 1947 in Pikeville to Roy Cole and Elcia Evans Roberson, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a devoted and best friend to his beloved wife Vivian DeBord Roberson for thirty-three years. Vivian cared for him with a loving heart and an adoring smile throughout his courageous battle with cancer. Steve served the country he loved in the United States of America during the Vietnam Conflict. He was of the Church of Christ faith and member of the New Harmony Church of Christ. Steve was employed with Tennessee Valley Authority where he had many loyal friends. He also enjoyed being a member of St. Elmo Lodge 437 F&AM and was a member of the IBEW local 175 Chattanooga. Other survivors include his daughter Stephanie Roberson; two sons Lee and Nathan Roberson; sister Jane R. (James Edward) Humble; grandchildren Taylor Hatfield, Alexis (Corey) Summers, and great-grandchildren Noah Rogers and Cole Summers. Service will be Wednesday at 10:00 am CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ronny Colvard and Bro. Gary Everett officiating. Burial will follow in Pikeville Cemetery.
