Never a dull moment with Gene. I graduated with him but he used to come to trail rides at my Dads(Shorty Reed) and I remember him jumping on a horse and it took off running and just missed the eve of my trailer. Scared me but he just sniggered and that was Gene doing what he loved

There was never a dull moment if you were with Gene.He was truly a friend to everyone he was with and was always the life of the party. I will never forget his laughter and the way he always treated everyone he was around. I will never forget you buddy and I know we will all miss you dearly. Love you buddy!

Gene we grew up together. You hunted with my daddy (Hack) and Uncle Dan. We were either together skating having cook outs or at the cabin on the power line with my dad Uncle Dan Brad Steve Scarlet Scotty and Kevin riding 4 wheelers shooting or everybody cooking and laughing. We were alot alike, we didn't know a stranger and loved talking. I will remember these times always and will miss you my friend! Love you Patricia Smith Keener

I have known Gene all of my life. Some of my best childhood memories were spent on his Grandparents farm which he would frequently visit. He was always the life of the party on the many horse and 4-wheeler rides I went on. A truly great man he will be missed.
