Genell D. Steakley, age 91 of Pikeville, died Monday, May 7, 2012 at the local hospital. She was a life long resident of Bledsoe County and a member of the Brockdell Church of God for over sixty years.
Preceding Genell in death were her husband T. J. Steakley; parents Isaac and Bertha Dodson; three brothers James, Bobby and Benny Dodson; sister Geneva Guy.
Survivors include two daughters Sherylene (Wallace) Holland and Annette Swafford; three grandchildren Lisa Ann (Joe) Johnson, Jeff (Michelle) Holland, and Tommy (Lisa) Holland; six great-grandchildren Steven (Melinda) Holland, Brittany, Bret and Gabi Holland, Saylah and Thomas Johnson; one great-great-granddaughter Macy Holland; sister Margaret (Levi) Johnson; four sisters-in-law Pauline, Pat and Nida Dodson of Pikeville and Esta Mae Daggett, Elyria, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1:00 pm CDT Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. David Rogers and Bro. Donnie Cox officiating. Burial will be in Cagle Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Hwy 127 South. Visitation Tuesday 6-9 pm CDT.
