Obituary of Hiroko Yamaguchi Reed

Hiroko Yamaguchi Reed, age 84, of Jasper, TN, died Sunday, March 1, 2020. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Jasper. She was born in Saipan, Mariana Islands, and was raised in Okinawa after World War II. She married her husband, Oscar Thomas Reed, while he was in the U.S. Marines, stationed in Okinawa. They moved to the U.S. in 1964 and raised their family. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States on November 15, 1978. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Thomas Reed; and parents, Eijun and Ushi Yamaguchi. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Sepp) Colston, Kathy (Mark) McGowan and Karin (Mike) Kirk; grandchildren, Adam Colston, Jeremy Colston, Rebecca (Aaron) Brummett, Sarah McGowan, Thomas McGowan and Kendall Kirk; great-grandchildren, Madison Colston, Aedan Brummett, Asher Brummett, Alex Colston and Kimber Colston; sisters, Hatsuko Shimazake, Ukiko Higa, Mieko Nichihira, Sachiko Eizana, Shigeko Goyou; brothers, Yoshinori Yamaguchi, Yoshihiro Yamaguchi and Yoshimitsu Yamaguchi; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. CST in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, TN. Burial will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, March 5 from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. CST and Friday, March 6 from 10:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. CST at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.
