Obituary of Thomas Beavert

Thomas A. Beavert, 83, died Thursday morning August 9, 2007 at his home. He was a life long resident of Bledsoe County and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and adult Sunday school teacher for over 50 years. He worked at Dupont in Chattanooga for 33 years. He belonged to the sons of the Revolution and was a genealogist, with extensive research in Bledsoe and Sequatchie Counties. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Mamie Minton Beavert.
Survived by his wife of 55 years, Anna Hixson Beavert; one daughter, Carol (Earl) Eames, one son, Philip (Alta) Beavert all of Dunlap; two grandsons, Jeremy (Kimberly) Eames of Hixson, Jason (Lindsay) Eames of Soddy Daisy; one great-granddaughter Ella Grace Eames, with another great-granddaughter due in December; two brothers, Howard (Jewell) Beavert of Dunlap, Frank Beavert of Memphis; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eugene Kilgore and Rev. Virgil Powell officiating. Burial will be in Pope Cemetery. Honorary Pall Bearers will be the Adult Sunday school class.
Arrangements by Putnam-Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Rd, Dunlap. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m-9:00 p.m.
