Obituary of Eddie Ray Roberson
"Butch" Eddie Ray Roberson, age 62, of Pikeville, Tennessee, died Thursday, June 20, 2019, after a battle with cancer.
He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church; a member of the Alhambra Shine Temple where he was part of the mounted horse patrol; St. Elmo Lodge #437 F. & A. M.; and a member of the Scottish Rite IBEW Local 721. He retired from TVA where he worked at Watts Bar and as hydro operator at Great Falls, and he was not allowed to speak to the public on the telephone. He was a lover of TN walking horses and a former trainer. He enjoyed his early retirement boating and cross country motorcycle riding on his Harley Davidson, He was a lover of racing and muscle cars. He began sharing his love with the grandkids with a drag car and a jr. dragster. He had a love/hate relationship with farming and thought he would be rich if it weren't for those darn cows. Butch was a supporter of the Tennessee Donor's Association and left behind a gift of life in the form of a donation.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Roberson; and step-father, Mickey Harwood.
He is survived by his daughters, Ashley (Zac) Roberson and Casey Shaver; grandchildren, Tyler (Caitlin) Young, Tate and Tucker Shaver, Avery, Zander and Easton Roberson; mother, Maxine Harwood; siblings, Kim Langston and Dr. Greg Harwood, all of Pikeville; niece, Anna (Niko) Moon; and nephew, James (Chelsea) Harwood.
The family will celebrate Butch's life with friends during visitation on Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. CDT at the funeral home with no service to follow.
