Emma Alene (Myers) Prater, age 82, born June 4, 1927 to Otto and Lema (Jennings) Myers, passed from this life Tuesday, May 11, 2010 with her family at her side. She was a lifelong resident of the New Martin Community and attended the Church of Christ at Mt. Della. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Haskel Prater; two brothers Harvey and Hershel Myers; special Aunts and grandparents she loved and missed dearly.
Survivors include three daughters Lucille and Charles (Billy) Brimer; Cummingsville community; Wanda and Ernest (Eddie) Beard; Treva Fletcher both from the Fall Creek Falls Community; four grandchildren Chris Fletcher, Zackary Fletcher, Tammy O'Conner, Denise Haston; seven great-grandchildren Josh, Roger, Johnathan, Kendall, Kayleigh, Madison, and William; two great-great-grandchildren Leah and Lacy; two sisters Earlene (Charles) Troglin, Tansi; Jerlene (Bobby) Madewell, Spencer; dearest friend anyone could ever have Laura (Shorty) Frazier; her church family, nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 2:00 pm CDT at Mt. Della Church of Christ with Bro Ray Wilmoth and Bro Freddie George officiating. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday after 7:00 pm CDT at Mt. Della Church of Christ. Online condolences can be made at ww.reedfamilyfh.com.
