John Wesley "Wes" Levan, age 75 of the Griffith Creek Community near Whitwell, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 in a Chattanooga hospital. Wes was a member of the Griffith Creek Congregational Methodist Church and a Veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey; parents John and Ethel Levan; sister Virginia Almond.
He is survived by his wife Iva Griffith Levan; daughter Jennifer (Mike) Sitz; granddaughter Jeffi White; sister Jewell Levan; brother Vernon (Jean) Levan, all of Whitwell; several nieces and nephews.
