Nanna W. Sweatt, age 85, passed away Friday, January 30, 2010 in a local hospital in Chattanooga at the tender age of 85. She was Born September 16, 1924 to the late Harry and Susan A. (Dunn) Winnie.
Nanna was a resident of Old Kings Point in Chattanooga, TN for 56 years and retired from Dupont in 1974.
Her Husband Estel Sweatt; son Carroll; grandson Mark Sweatt; brothers Robert and Winsted Winnie, and nephew Robert D. Sweatt preceded her in death.
Survivors include son Carlos Sweatt and wife Donnette, Chattanooga; two granddaughters, Amanda and Allison Sweatt; two great-grandsons, Colin Shannon and Knox Johnson; sister Velva Barron, Arizona; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sweatt was referred to as "Nanna" and touched the very heart and soul of every individual she came into contact with. Her home was an open haven for all those in need. She will be greatly missed by her community of "Old Kings Point" and others as well. Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 pm CST in the funeral home chapel with interement in Pikeville Cemetery.
