Obituary of Joe Marion Johnson

Joe M Johnson, age 80 of Pikeville, died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at his home. He was a member of Stephens Chapel United Methodist Church. Joe farmed most of his life and was a veteran of the Korean War. Preceding him in death were four infant children; his parents Savannah and John H. Johnson, sisters Zelpha Bowman, Mary Garfield, Johnnie Mae Dennis, Irene Johnson; brother Ed Johnson. Survivors include daughter Wanda Johnson, Pikeville; son Joe Johnson, Jr. (Jackie), Pikeville; grandaughters Maranda Johnson and Carissa Johnson, one great-grandaughter Makayla; former wife Elouise Johnson, Dunlap; serveal nieces and nephews. Service will be Monday at 1:00 pm CST in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Doug Silvers officiating. Burial will follow in John M. Hixson Cemetery.
