Obituary of Joyce Marie Nichols

Joyce Marie Conner Nichols, age 68, of Soddy Daisy, TN died Saturday July 7, 2007 after a long battle with cancer. Joyce was a 1957 graduate of Livingston Academy where she was a stellar basketball player. Joyce was active in the North Hamilton congregation of the Church of Christ and other congregations while the family lived and worked in Lawton, OK, Jonesborough TN, Baltimore MD, Pikeville TN and Chattanooga TN. She was a great cook and meticulous housekeeper as her part of a team effort to raise a family and please GOD. She loved to sing and enjoyed travel and was able to visit all 48 continental States. Survivors include her husband of almost 50 years, Joe Nichols; one daughter, Cathy May, of Hixson; three Grandsons, Preston, Bristol, and Jordan May; and three brothers, Herman, Shirlie, and Jackie Conner. Friends are invited to sing at 7:00 PM in a memorial service at North Hamilton Church of Christ 8310 Dayton Pike. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St Jude’s Children Hospital instead of flowers. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Highway 127 South, Pikeville, TN.
