Opal Mae Cross, age 89 of Whitwell, died Saturday, October 31, 2009. She was a member of Whitwell Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a member of Eastern Star and had 52 years of service for USDA. She was preceded in death by parents George and Laura Cross; sisters Nancy Lay and Jewell Prigmore; brother George W. Cross.
Survivors include niece Robin Sorenson, California; nephews Chris Lay, Washington; Michael Cross, Nashville; Steven Prigmore and Phil Prigmore both of California. A graveside service will be held at Red Hill Cemetery at 1:00 pm CST. Phillip Layne will be officiating. Visitation will be Monday 12:00 pm until service time.
