Vera Oakes, age 68 of Spencer, died Thursday, October 29, 2009. She was a member of the Mooneyham Church of God and was preceded in death by her husband David Oakes, brother Luther Roberts, sister Lula Mae Roberts and parents Rachel and Dock Roberts.
She is survived by daughter Jacqueline (Robert) Miller; son Randy (Susan) Oakes; two very special grandsons Blake and Austin Miller; all of Spencer; five sisters Betty Jean Roberts, Chrystine Dodson, Dorothy Walker, Velma Sue Frasier and Laura Faye Dodson all of Spencer; one brother Issac Roberts, Spencer; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Mooneyham Church of God Friday at 5:00 p.m. CDT until funeral time Sunday at 1:00 p.m. CST with Rev. Doug Cunningham officiating.
