Bettye Colston Bayless, age 81 of Pikeville, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at her home. She was a member of the Mt. Crest United Methodist Church. Bettye was preceded in death by parents, Rev. Joe and Myrtle Colston, brothers Ralph, Kenneth, Bill, and Bob Colston; sisters Dorothy Cannon, June Bolton, and Nancy Carol Colston.
Survivors include husband of 62 years, David Bayless, Pikeville; daughter Patricia (Bruce Maddox) Bayless, Pikeville; sons Joe (Judy) Bayless, Robin (Lori) Bayless, Bruce (Judy) Bayless, all of Pikeville; and Dana (Beverly) Bayless, Gordonsville, Va; sixteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sister Myrtle Ann "Muff" (Dosey) Kelly, South Pittsburg; brother Jerry (Shirley) Colston, Jasper; several nieces, nephews, and friends. Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro Brian Williamson and Bro John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Beach Cemetery.
