John L. Gilbert, age 51 of Whitwell, TN, died at his home September 10, 2009. He was a member of Green's Chapel first congregational Methodist church and he was employed by the Town of Signal Mountain. He was preceded in death by parents; G.E. (Big Daddy) and Francis (Big Momma) Gilbert; brothers Frank and James Gilbert; nephew Tony Greene.
He is survived by; daughter Ashley Gilbert, Whitwell,; son Jacob Long, Whitwell. Three sisters; Francis Greene, Whitwell, Shirley (Bob) Harris, Moscow, TN; Betty (Allen) McHone, Morristown, TN; four brothers Charles (Andrea) Gilbert, Dunlap, TN; Bill Gilbert, Whitwell, Terry (Rhonda) Gilbert, Whitwell, Walter Gilbert, Whitwell, TN. Several nieces and nephews, special friend Sandy Long.
