Winsted Winnie, age 78 of Pikeville, died Sunday, September 6, 2009. He attended the Stephens Chapel United Methodist Church and served in the U S Navy during the Korean War. He was prededed in death by first wife Flossie Winnie, brother Robert Winnie.
Survivors include wife Sue Winnie, Dunlap; daughter Connie (Chris) Godbold, Clermont, Fl.; son Gary (Sharon) Winnie, Birchwood; Clay (Merry) Greer, Dunlap; grandchildren Gary Winnie, Jr, Malissa Winnie, Kathleen Godbold, Will Greer; sisters Nan Sweatt, Chattanooga; Velva Barron, Arizona; several nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday at 2:00pm CDT in the funeral home chapel with Rev Bill Cross and Rev Doug Silvers officiating. Burial will follow in Winnie Cemetery.
