Joanne A. Condra, 81, of Whitwell, TN, went home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2016. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Joanne was a member of Looney's Creek United Methodist Church, and was choir director at Looney's Creek and Sulphur Springs Churches. She retired from education after teaching music for 30 years at Whitwell High School, and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma.
The daughter of the late D.W. and Katherine Austin, Joanne is also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Barry Austin.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 57 years, Earl N. Condra; Daughters Melanie (Mark) Meshotto and Amy (Henry) Jordan; son, Barry N. Condra; grandchildren Megan Condra (Jaryd), Micah Meshotto (Carri), Hannah Davis (Johnny), and Maddie Jordan; great grandchildren Austin, Ayden, and Abigayl; sister Kathy Austin; brothers John D. (Charlyn) and Fred (Janice) Austin; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga and Vickie Eggert RN, and special caregivers Susie Waters and Angela Powell for the loving and compassionate care given to Joanne.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 15 at 11:00 a.m. CST at Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church With Rev. Brenda Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. CST. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Looney's Creek United Methodist Church or the Whitwell Schools Foundation.
