Frances Lee Read, Ph.D., of Dunlap, TN, passed away October 9, 2016. Dr. Read, a native of California, moved to Tennessee and has lived in Dunlap for nearly twenty years after retiring. She worked as an educational administrator in the public schools of Chula Vista in the San Diego, CA area. Prior to being promoted as principal she taught art for many years in the Chula Vista and Lemon Grove school districts. She was a creative woman who loved music, art, and writing, always encouraging her students in many creative endeavors.
She is survived by her sister, Ethel R. Nelson, M.D.; niece, Laurel Damsteegt; nephews, Orlyn Nelson, and Theodore Nelson and their spouses and children.
