Obituary of Myrtle Wright

Myrtle C. Wright of Pikeville passed away from this life Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the young age of 90. To say she was spunky would be an understatement . She was an amazing cook, an avid bowler, Cincinnati Reds fan, and a competitive rook and scrabble player. She was small in stature but lived and loved big, with her family and friends being the daily recipients. She was a devout Christian giving God all the glory and daily looking for people she could help or encourage. She loved worshipping with her church family at Bethel Church of Christ, as well as enjoying the fellowship of her Christian family within her community and back on in Ohio. Preceding her in death were her husband "Bud" Wright; parents, Alfred and Clyda Cockrell; brothers, Jay, Paul and Buddy; and sisters, Margaret and Mildred. Left to cherish her memory and continue her legacy are children, John (Shirley) Cooper, Cincinnati, OH, Mark (Julie) Wright, Cincinnati, Debby (Bobby); grandchildren Crystal Cooper, Jeremy Wright, Emily (Chad) Lay, Leanne (Zac) Mitchell, Andrew Wright, Hannah (Seth) Webster, Caleb (April) Collier, Sarah (Ben) Hogan; great-grandchildren Nova (Megan) Norman, Orion Norman, Ethan Wright, Roman Lay, Evelyn Webster, Wylie Collier; brother, Bobby (Kitty) Cockrell; several family and friends whom she loved. Services will be Saturday, October 1, at 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Caleb and Bobby Collier officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Hill Cemetery.
