Gilmer Roberts, age 91, of Morristown, TN, passed away Sunday morning, September 11, 2016 at his home. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats Basketball Fan, loved shot guns and squirrel hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Usley Newsome Roberts; son, Woodrow Roberts; twin brothers, Mose and Mac Roberts; brother, Woodrow Roberts; step-daughter, Sonya Swafford.
He is survived by his wife, Laquata Joyce Roberts; step-daughter, Rhonda (Tommy) Ashburn, Hixson; step-son, Franklin Land Jr., Dunlap; step-grandchildren, Chris Brown, Dunlap and Ciara (Matt) Davis, Whitwell; two nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Lanny Tate officiating. Burial in Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap. Family will receive friends Tuesday 4:00-8:00 p.m. CDT.
