Edward Duwaine Hoge, age 82, of Dunlap, TN, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at NHC Healthcare. He was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Pastmaster of Dunlap Lodge #693 F&AM, Alhambra Shrine, Cherokee Chapter O.E.S. #301. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and served in The United States Navy on the USS Maddox 731. He enjoyed farming and gardening and was an avid reader who loved to entertain his family and friends with stories and jokes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Dennison and Susie Mae Hoge; sister, Charlene Hoge; brother-in-law, Bill Carter.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ellen Myers Hoge; two daughters, Myra Sue Corbitt, Dickson, TN and Mary Colleen Reagan, Soddy Daisy; two sons, Dennis (Tammy) Hoge, Chattanooga and David (Elizabeth) Hoge, Lawrenceville, GA; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Kayne Carter, Rome, GA; brother, Charles (Helen) Hoge, Rome, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday 2:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tom Tucker officiating. Masonic service to follow. Burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com.
