James Edward (Ed) Williams, age 93, of Dunlap, TN, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016. He was a member of Dunlap First Baptist Church and former member of Red Bank Baptist Church in Red Bank. He retired from Sears and also had been an accountant for different businesses and individuals. He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Coast Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Houser Williams; parents, Hervey and Ethel Teeters Williams; brother, Lewis Williams; two sisters, Jessie Ricketts and Betty Boles; great-nephew, Bryan Branson.
He is survived by his step-son, Mike (Cindy) Houser, Hixson, TN; step-grandson, Andy Houser, Bryan, TX; step-granddaughter, Claire Houser, Atlanta, GA; sister, Lorene Williams and brother-in-law, Earl Boles, both of Dunlap; nephew, Ron (Terri) Ricketts, Cleveland, TN; two nieces, Lynn (Mike) Humphreys and Karen Clark, both of Kingston, TN; several great-nephews, great nieces and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 1:00 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Fred Steelman officiating. Burial in Mansfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network or your favorite charity. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap. Family will receive friends Wednesday 3:00-6:00 p.m. CST.
