Billie D. McGlothen, age 84, of Dunlap, TN, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at his home with family and friends by his side. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a Korean War Veteran where he received his purple heart. He was owner of several businesses in Dunlap over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Edith Hobbs McGlothen; brothers, Roy Thomas and Joe Grady McGlothen.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Reta Barker McGlothen; brother, Berlene (JoAnn) McGlothen, Dunlap, TN; sister, Mary Elizabeth Rieske, Fort Myers, FL; several nieces and nephews; special thank you to Lisa Brown and Amedisys Hospice Care.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1:00 p.m. CST in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Terry Barker and Rev. Dennis Boston officiating. Burial will be in Welch Chapel Cemetery with military honors provided by Vietnam Veterans Chapter 203. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Welch Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap. Family will receive friends Monday 3:00-8:00 p.m. CST.
