Wendell William Agee, 86, Christian, missionary, retired Air Force veteran of 20 years and former business owner of 30 years, went to be with his Lord on October 26, 2015. He will be welcomed with open arms by his parents, John and Ada Agee; his daughter, Sharon Agee; his son, Stephen Agee; and his brothers, Jack, Wiley, and Lyn Agee. Warm and witty, Wendell was beloved by many. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, June Evans Agee; daughter, Wendy (Wayne) Sanders; daughter, Leslie (Mack) Rye; daughter, Christine Agee; son, William Agee (Nancy); five grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Bruce, Cole, and Paige; his sister, Ozelle Taylor; and several nieces and nephews. Church of Christ members from the Karns and Clinton churches, as well as those with whom he came into contact in the prison ministry work and on his many mission trips to Cuba, Jamaica, Barbardos, Tobago, St. Croix, and Honduras, will sorely miss this humble, generous, tireless soldier of the Lord’s kingdom. Wendell’s one desire was that all come to know his Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies, 6612 Beaver Ridge Road, Knoxville, TN 37931. Visitation will be from 5-6:30 pm EST on Friday, October 30, at the Karns church of Christ. The funeral service will be at 7:00 pm.
