J.C. Brown "Brown Brown", age 89 of Pikeville, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Rhea Medical Center. J.C. was a World War II veteran, a 67 year member of the VFW Post #5033 and American Legion Post #66, and he retired from the State of Tennessee after 31 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Ada Belle Brown; grandson, Clint Black; great-granddaughter Breanna Smith; parents, Sam and Ella Brown; sisters, Jane Boyd, Sally Thurman, and Kate Tollett; brothers, Gordon, Everett, and Edward Brown.
Survivors include his daughter, Vickie (Garlan) Knox, Dayton; son, Jeff (Carol) Brown, Dayton; grandchildren, Robby Smith, Brandi Smith, Holly Garland, Christie Goins, April Van Dusen, Scarlet Matthew, Matthew Brown, Cheryl Jones; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Kaleb, Brandalyn, Josiah, Abigail, Madalyn, Luke, Ella, Sully, Vince, Hannah, Ariel, Alia, Cailyn, Carli, Gavin, Kelsey, Kiara, Kolby, Hudson; great-great-grandchildren, Emmary, Anslee; sisters, Mary Elliott, Suffolk, VA, Libby White, Pikeville, Sue Ann Cook, Arvada, CO; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Aaron Revis officiating. Burial will be in Rigsby Cemetery.
