Joyce Evelyn. Harkleroad, of Whitwell, TN, passed away, July 10, 2011 at Grandview Hospital. Joyce was born on November 14, 1918 in Whitwell, TN, and had reached the age of 92. She was the daughter of John Hubert King and Clyde Farrier Coffelt King, both whom preceded her in death. She was educated in the Whitwell School system and married Loften W. Harkleroad on April 18, 1938, who also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a brother Herdon King. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Whitwell. She was retired from the Marion County School System where she retired as food service manager.
She is survived by two sons; Larry Wayne (Faye) Harkleroad, Cookeville, TN, and Wendell Jerrel (Irene) Harkleroad, Leawood, Kansas; grandchildren; Cindy Lou (Rick) Story, Nashville; Eric Paul (Sarah) Harkleroad, Bedford, MA and Julia Ann Harkleroad, Leawood, KS; great-grandsons Thomas and William Story; brother Delwyn (Katie) King, Hixson, TN.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 am CDT at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeremy McMillan officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery.
