Dorothy "Granny Dot" Ables age 86, of Whitwell, TN, died Monday, February 14, 2011 at her home. She was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband James H. Ables, parents Ab (Hallie) Griffith, sons; Jim, Pete, Johnny Ables, granddaughters, Lisa Phillips, Terri Ables, brother, Jerry Griffith, Sisters, Jean Griffith, Helen Griffith Davis. She is survived by daughter, Susie (Ables) Masters, sons; Darrell (Barbara) Ables, Wayland (Reba) Ables, daughter-in-laws, Carolyn, Linda, Betty Ables all of Whitwell; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; brother Wayne (Toni) Griffith; sisters, Evelyne Griffith, Wilma Griffith Davis, Virginia Ellen Barber; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 am CST in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Cecil Baxter officiating. Burial will be in Whitwell Memorial Cemetery.
