James E. Mears, Sr., age 74 of Pikeville, died Saturday, February 4, 2012. He was a member of Bethel Church of Christ. James was preceded in death by son Rufus Mears.
Survivors include wife of fifty-two and one half years, Joyce Mears; son Eddie (Donna) Mears, Pikeville; grandchildren Johnathan and Justin Mears; Shandi Edge, and Matthew Brown; two great-granddaughters Sierra-Lynne Mears and Kayedence Edge; three sisters Floella (Don) Harvey, Pikeville; Cassie Creasman, Pikeville; Imogene (Ed) Hughes, Pikeville; two brothers Ollie (Monique) Mears, Dayton; Bernard (Ann) Mears, Pikeville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Service is Tuesday at 11:00 am CST in the funeral home chapel with Bro. T. A. Smith, Bro. Bobby Collier and Bro. Bradley Hargis officiating. Burial will follow in Worthington Cemetery.
