Clarence "Sonny" Tankersley, age 67 of Whitwell, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012. He attended Sulpher Springs Methodist and was a member of Brotherhood of Maintenance Way. Sonny was preceded in death by parents Alta Mae and Ted Smith; son Scott Minter.
Survivors include wife of thirty-two years Nancy Tankersley, Whitwell; son Roy (Tina) Tankersley, Whitwell; three grandchildren; sister Glenda (Greg) Ruth, Whitwell; brother Roy G. (Penny) Tankersley, Cowan; special aunt Mrs. Georgia Cookston, Whitwell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Service will be Thursday at 1:00 pm CST in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ronnie Cookston and Bro. Cecil Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
