Ruby Louise (Reed) Poff, age 95 of Chattanooga, died Thursday, September 23, 2010. She graduated from Bledsoe County High School in 1932. Ruby lived most of her life in Chattanooga with her husband and two children and was a member of Graysville Baptist Church in Chattanooga. She worked until she was 84 at Chambliss Children's Home in Chattanooga. Ruby was preceded in death by husband Elmer Lewis Poff; parents Emmett and Della Gribble
Reed; brothers Walter and Clarence Reed; sisters Nora Agee and Clella Wheeler.
Survivors include daughter Melba Poff Shaver, Dayton; son Elmer Poff, Chattanooga; brother Norman Reed, Las Vegas, NV.; grandchildren Sheila White, Karol Stroud, Sherry Wohlfeil, Jami Hale-Poorman, Jim Hale, II, Keri Dooley, Scott Batten, and Beth Vidalez; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Service is 2:00 pm CDT Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Denny Manning officiating.
